Gourmet coffee: indulge your customers

Gourmet coffees transform a simple coffee break into a moment of indulgence and are the perfect end to a delicious dinner. Your customers love them and they help boost your turnover. Want to add gourmet coffee to your menu? Here are some tips.

What is gourmet coffee?

Gourmet coffee is a luxury coffee that gives your customers an extra moment of indulgence. They are usually based on a strong espresso, a creamy latte or a rich lungo or macchiato. But what makes a gourmet coffee truly gourmet is what goes on top or on the side..

The possibilities are endless and it's certainly a good idea to add a personal touch. But when your customers read “gourmet coffee”, they already expect delicious extras like cream, liqueur, chocolate, caramel or spices. So why not go one step further? Add an optional extra of mini patisserie e.g. mini beignets, macarons, mini pastéis de nata, mini eclairs and even mini pralines. Choose quality products to elevate your gourmet coffees to another level. Surprise, amaze and indulge your customers. That's what a gourmet coffee is for.

With endless creative combinations, you'll always be on top of the latest trends. For example, sustainable coffee or fair trade coffee with plant-based milk and liqueur from a local producer. Because sustainable entrepreneurship is important for your hospitality business.

Tip: you can also serve gourmet teas. For example, a chai latte in autumn or an iced matcha latte with cream and white chocolate shavings for a summer menu. Yum...delicious and trendy!

The advantages of gourmet coffee for your business

The advantages of gourmet coffee for your business

Offering gourmet coffee has many advantages for your business:

  • By offering gourmet coffee, you can increase the average expenditure per customer and therefore also your turnover. These luxury coffee drinks can be priced higher and therefore result in a favourable food cost percentage.

  • With gourmet coffee in your assortment, you can also encourage impulse buys. It's the ideal way to persuade customers who might not want to order a dessert to treat themselves to a more luxurious version of coffee or tea at the end of a delicious dinner.

  • Want to optimise your customer satisfaction? An extensive menu is important. Add different gourmet coffees to cater to the different dietary needs of your customers by offering lactose free or gluten free biscuits. Happy customers with very little extra work.

  • Gourmet coffees also open the door to upselling. For example, a top-shelf whiskey or an appetiser board with sweet treats for those wanting to really indulge. Recommend these options or integrate them into your menu — one way to make a good impression with your menu.
